Last year, my daughter and I travelled to Las Vegas and I told her that if there was a shooting to run as fast as she could and leave me behind because I’ve had a good life and she must save herself. I’ve travelled to 29 countries and I’ve never had that conversation before. What a tragic mess.

I have always felt personally responsible for fighting injustices, whether against me or others. What is happening in the world right now is just too much. For my own sanity, I have to tell myself that this all is not mine to carry. I hope I can listen.
