The courage of Minnesotans to pull together and to continue to witness and record the terror caused by heavily armed, masked government thugs sometimes while simply wearing a bathrobe with nothing more than a whistle knowing they could be summarily executed is truly remarkable.
"The Crime of Witness" by Fintan O’Toole in @nyrb-imprints.bsky.social

"The videos that expose the administration’s mendacity about its own use of extreme violence against peaceful dissent are themselves products of the courage to show up [and] see for yourself."

MAGA dimwit Peter Navarro accidentally admitted Trump-MAGA's claim about immigrants taking jobs is a scam. And as @pkrugman.bsky.social notes, not only is job growth down; *manufacturing* jobs are also down. The whole MAGA story is in collapse.

Oh man, he heard about the bridge. His reaction of course, ‘where’s my cut’. Billions for his private stash? Maybe some other flex as well - slapping his name on it or demanding CA cede property to the US? Windsor? This admin’s corruption is mind-numbing. I hope Carney stands up to him.

Wondering why the racist post in the first place? Was he just bored looking for a reaction? Showing his muscle by posting it and then pretending it’s not racist? Gets a kick out of the fact his base will automatically defend him…
i get the cynicism that outrage over Trump's racist post will change minds but the breadth of the GOP criticism is significant -- Collins, Curtis, Wicker, and Scott (among others) are out with statements unequivocally denouncing it. It's a step in the right direction from "I haven't see the tweet."

Another way to express the same sentiment as Sir Ian McKellen’s recitation of Shakespeare from a different cultural perspective.
Wow! What sounded like the entire AEW Dynamite audience in Las Vegas tonight chanted "Fuck ICE! Fuck ICE!" in unison before the main event

It is infuriating how much he lies. He didn’t just hand farmers $12 billion purportedly from *tariff money*. There is no *tariff money*. Instead, he put together a $12 billion aid package to farmers struggling from the devastating effects of his tariffs.
Trump: "The farmers are doing very well. We just handed 'em $12 billion out of tariff money. They don't even want it. They just want to be treated fairly."

In a letter to Gov. Tim Walz Saturday, Bondi claimed that Walz could “restore the rule of law” by complying with a list of demands, including giving the Department of Justice (DOJ) the state’s voter registration records.

Her demand came as Minneapolis was reeling from a second fatal shooting by a federal agent this month.

The ICE invasion of Minnesota wasn't premised on some huge number of undocumented workers. It was premised on the lies Trump peddled in December about Somalis and a five-year-old welfare fraud scandal.

ICE has nothing to do with policing welfare fraud.

This is heartbreaking. I pray this child may know how many people hurt with him and pray for his healing and safety. Those who did this are monsters.
This is 10th-grader Arnoldo Bazan.

A citizen.

Immigration agents grabbed him and put him in a chokehold.

"We're from the United States bro!' he screamed.

Agents took and sold his phone

And when he finally got home hours later, his shirt was ripped, he neck had angry, red welts, and he sobbed.

Why?

This is remarkably well-written. I had been mildly curious (and disturbed) when Olivia Nuzzi said she had a toxic, non-physical, *I-don’t-know-what-you-call-this* thing with RFK, Jr. Let’s not give it a name. Probably best not to read the poem either. I could not and feel I am better off.
