Pediatrician for almost 30 years, now retired so I can contribute to giving my grandkids and dog a better quality of life. In favor of democracy, civil rights, vaccines, cookies and mystery novels.
Finished a baby sweater and trying to psych myself up for going back to the US tomorrow after the relative sanity of Canada.

As an actual middle-aged woman, I am banned from all things Twilight. I never restricted my kids’ reading in any way but I did mock them for Twilight because the writing was SO bad. (They read them anyway…it was the 90s.) Can’t risk getting off of my high horse now-might break something!

Yep. I’m looking to see if the radiologist’s reading actually includes the phrases “amazing” and “perfect”.

“And also, it’s your fault for wearing pjs in the plane….”

Does this price include inquiries into your weight and why you don’t dye your hair?

(Checks quickly with senior resident to be sure I got it right.)

High school biology teacher did this with my youngest daughter’s class in 2016-17 and she was the only one in her class to draw a generic scientist as female. (Proud mom.)

So it’s NOT updated info from qualified scientists 😱. I’m shocked, I tell you, shocked!

So this is the week that socialism is bad but swastikas and nooses need context. Holy shit.
November 21, 2025 at 8:13 PM
Thanks! It’s on today’s to do list now!

Arrrrgh!

Absolutely agree except I’d say 100% instead of just “largely”. He was sowing the seeds of this mess for many years before he took his current position. Vaccinations rates have been falling and we’ve now crossed the threshold for sustained transmission. Shameful.

But sunscreen has beef tallow now so, I feel like that’s meaningful progress 🤷🏻‍♀️
November 19, 2025 at 6:20 AM
To be fair, though, that’s a pretty low bar…

Missed that it was a puzzle initially and I was looking for missing/superfluous bones “no, no, looks good…”

Yes, I saw someone suggesting that this vote meant legislative branch reclaiming their power. Ha! To me, just proves that they still do nothing without Trump’s permission.

Too bad he didn’t address the recent studies showing a reduction in peanut allergy associated with a change in early introduction of peanuts…not a change in vaccines. So puzzling.
November 17, 2025 at 9:16 PM
Ewwww. Totally cringeworthy.
November 17, 2025 at 9:12 PM
Perhaps they’re concerned he’ll get lost?
November 5, 2025 at 4:32 PM
Then he’d find out who was giving life jackets to toddlers and gut their department.

My pregnant daughter went to get flu and COVID at the pharmacy (as recommended by everyone but RFK Jr) and was refused without a note from her OB. Pretty sure her OB has better ways to use her time!

To be fair, letter openers are not nearly as accessible as they used to be.

I just sold a house with one of these! I had the garage doors checked prior to sale and the repair guy said he’d never seen one that old…but it worked fine so 🤷🏻‍♀️
