On Jan 21st, a transgender #veteran died by suicide in the Syracuse VA parking garage. Draped in a trans pride flag, they hanged themselves. A person who once wore the uniform, found so much despair in this world that they wrapped themselves in the flag of our community to met their ultimate fate.

We're grateful to the LGBTQIA+ MSOs and VSOs, as well as the women's rights, children's rights, and reproductive rights orgs who swiftly forged a coalition.
We are disappointed that IAVA, NMFA, Blue Star Families, the American Legion, and the VFW could not be moved to support military children.
