Very grim situation.
There’s something about the fact that a thread on a tragic event, clarifying journalistic integrity & practices can be posted here, with most of the responses being mature & sensible, while on twitter such a thread would be swarmed.

So yesterday, a lot of ppl shared a claim that 40 Israeli babies were decapitated at Kfar Aza, a kibbutz near Gaza. Here’s a bit of insight about how we approach a claim like that as reporters:
1) Figure out where the claim was coming from. In this case, it was a single Israeli TV reporter.

I feel like there should be some option to list handles for other accounts, especially for people like me who stay anonymous and use a range of bizarre animal themed handles. I realise I could maybe put them in my bio… but that feels less mysterious.
