Are they cute though? Or are they smelly and weird? I need a new name. I panicked. It’s not even true. I’ve never farmed a llama in my life. I’m like that weirdo mutton dude.

Begin from the position that anyone who thinks differently to you is a blithering idiot, and make sure that you make that apparent for any alternative viewpoint, without considering any of its merits. Ensure that you are dripping with contempt for anyone who disagrees. Don’t bother to explain why.

For non fiction: pick random arguments up half way through & then drop them. Give your reader the impression they know where your argument is likely to land, then completely befuddle them by dropping it & picking up a different conclusion, with zero reference to the clear switch in path.
