You will need to make long-term plans. In captivity they can live up to 80yrs I think. I can hear the wild ones here chatting at night sometimes.

I guess if you could get it established it would be ok. I do find banksia take a good 4-5 years before their tap root gets deep enough for them to really take off here. I am right near the coast so no frosts but heaps of wind and salt.

Glad he's feeling better. Hope you get to catch up on your sleep tonight. I've been nursing a crook chook the last week or so. I envy you your local vet.
