It's October! Hurrah!

I've specially curated 5 of our spookier titles, and discounted the eBooks to just $2. Grab a couple, or all 5 for $10. It's your choice.

We’re in the pub and there’s a middle-aged couple sitting in the corner, not talking, just sipping their drinks and reading their books, and this is what we’re aspiring to now.

THREAD. A collection of photos I have taken of scarecrows I have stumbled across during walks in the British countryside over the last fifteen years.
A scarecrow who has just watched Monty Python's The Holy Grail for the first time A scarecrow who is feeling pleased with himself after forming a 1950s sci-fi themed surf rock band, of which he is the sole member A scarecrow who is dolled up and ready for a night out in the fanciest part of Newcastle A very pleasant and well-meaning scarecrow who will paint your house for a competitive rate while rhapsodising about the beauty of the land

I just finished The Dead House by Billy O'Callaghan - a beautifully lyrical modern ghost story. Now halfway through Tessa Hadley's The Past - she can do no wrong :)

Fantastic, Laura - and very well deserved!

Nicholas Royle’s stories are “immaculately sinister”, according to the TLS.

In these stories he writes about doppelgängers, ghosts, dummies, disconnected body parts, impaired vision, the dead and the prospect of death, not without a macabre sense of humour.

Tickets are now on sale for this fantastic book festival in the Lake District (links in comments). I’ll be on a couple of panels, doing a reading and signing, but most excitingly, I get to interview my top-favourite (living) author, Andrew Michael Hurley! 🖤
