🧪Why modeling childhood vaccines after Denmark is non-sensical:

1. In Denmark moms are screened for Hep B, part of the free healthcare. At risk babies get vaccinated.

2. In the US 25% of mothers aren't screened. US guidelines are based on redundancy.

Its a false equivalence.

The US is not Denmark. Denmark is not the US. The Danish immunization schedule is not adapted for the realities of the American Healthcare system and population.
Let me explain.

🧪 Dr. Carl Dieffenbach, the highly respected Division of AIDS Director, was transferred to a position w/ significantly less oversight of #NIH. Many advances in HIV treatments happened under his watch.

We are watching MAGA deemphasize the gravity of AIDS & discredit impactful HIV research.

This is concerning…. Based on their new policy, NIH can stop providing reasoning for rejecting high-scoring proposals. #RAdminsky
This is concerning.

NIH is changing their policy so that staff have to prepare justification for every application that is funded BUT NO DOCUMENTATION FOR APPLICATIONS THAT ARE SKIPPED (BASED ON PERCENTILES).
