Just a heads up since this has breached containment, I am not interested in debating this with people whose motives I don't know. As a general rule I block early and often for my own peace of mind. I don't have the time or energy to sort out good faith questions from bad.

It is really really sinking in for me the degree to which LLMs are the ultimate expression of right wing anti-intellectualism. Its proponents are literally mocking the idea that anyone would ever want to learn anything, know anything, develop any actual skill, or have a thought of their own.

If you're going to send me something written by an LLM then save us all time and resources and just send me your prompt instead. I'll value a text that says "Heartfelt condolence message with reference to a list of events" more, because this way I at least actually know what you were thinking

This also explains why people often have such delusional ideas of what LLMs will and won’t do well.

We literally have no model for imagining language use without consciousness & we deal with other humans by projecting a parallel for our own inner lives onto them. We do the same for talking robots.
