We need to be united in fighting this mad dash to the bottom thrust upon us by our infinitely greedy ""betters."" Because they'll never stop this. Those in charge will *always* be looking for ways to send any one of us to the chopping block if they can save a few bucks and get away with it.

The only way for us to overcome AI slop is to continue to draw attention to it when it pops up; to ensure that "good enough" is never good enough. And also, to remember that AI isn't just coming for our jobs. Closed captions, editors, artists, writers, musicians, concept artists, programmers, etc.

Everything is always a waiting game. If companies know they can wait out the outrage and anger whilst facing no financial repercussions, then they will. They'll never stop trying to gut the human element from the arts because everything is about continual growth, never quality, humanity or art.

Will the outrage be as intense then? Will reviewers finally start to say to studios like Embark, "Hey, you're financially successful enough to hire real actors, and you're willfully choosing not to whilst giving a permission structure to other studios to do what you're doing. That's not okay"?

Any time one of these companies gets away with infesting AI into any aspect of what is supposed to be a creative, artistic medium, they know they can get away with more. When Embark does their next game, they'll continue using AI. When AI dubs get better, Amazon will slow walk them instead.

As the video also points out, this isn't harming the big names. It's most damning for those who want to get their foot in the door. Unfortunately, those up top truly are soulless suits, interested in maximizing profits at the expense of literally anything & everything else.

What people need to start understanding is that, no, AI is not going to just completely engulf the VO industry all at once. What's already happening is more insidious; it's being slowly infected. Some AI voiced NPC's here, AI dubbed background voices there. AI walla mixed with real walla, etc.

Fans want to meet the stars of the show. They don't care about "guy who gets graphically crushed by war elephant" or "tax genie." Look at the latest Prince of Persia game. It only had one or two AI voiced NPC's, and some folks raising a stink about that didn't impact the games success one iota.

Embark has already opened Pandora's Box because they've shown that AI VO is not a dealbreaker if their game is fun. They got away with having *comically* bad AI VO, something most reviewers never even touched on. Suppose AI dubbing is limited to bit parts instead. Will the average viewer care?

This is a game that can absolutely afford to hire proper VO actors and bring them in for multiple sessions and has seen financial success with both of their latest games. They still choose to actively harm the industry "just because." Their AI also wasn't limited just to voice acting either.

Look at the recent release of "ARC Raiders." It's a game from Embark Studios, who previously made "The Finals", which very heavily featured AI VO, but still saw acclaim across the board. ARC Raiders features even more egregiously dreadful AI VO, and it's been a smash hit with fans & critics alike.

The transfer to my phone gave me an agonising stress headache and my homescreen Jack looks how I feel but we jumped the first hurdle well! I linked it back up to the new jp account. What I'll do is delete the tablet twst app, download the jp store 1 and hope the data moves over smoothly again 🙏

I managed to use the Tokyo Tower address while setting up a new jp playstore account. I purposely shifted from apple to android a few years back as android seems cheaper and less restricted.

I'm so far on step 5 and I'm praying hard my phone can handle the transfer for a moment. Same goes for my tablet later on when I uninstall and reinstall twst jp as my tablet permanently warns me about low space 🥲
