Q: There's compelling proof that antifa did infiltrate on January 6 dressed up like Trump supporters and incited violence. Is that something you'd like the new J6 committee to look at?
TRUMP: Well I've heard that. Yeah. We will be acting on some of that.
You would think law enforcement would be on a high alert for civil rights violations when confronting a man whose surname is Miranda. But then again, it’s ICE, so I guess we shouldn’t be surprised.
Out here in Portland, I’m very, *very* cautiously optimistic that our National Guard will do the right thing, mostly because of this testimony before the Oregon Legislature from Brigadier General Gronewold. www.tiktok.com/@jaws.90/vid...
It is dope, but it doesn’t have to be a competition. Merc & WW both do the thing that they do well, and it’s good that each one is around to do its particular thing.
If it is near 100% certain that the bully will beat the everloving shit out of me if I lead with violence, then no, I will not hit him just to prove that I’m not a coward. Thats what he wants.
I will be strategic, patient, and adopt a strategy with better odds of success. It’s less cathartic, but 🤷🏻♂️
at this *specific moment in time* is to not provide them with any propaganda content. I would rather force Trump to continue escalating in increasingly ridiculous and desperate ways in order to justify his military invasion.
Lmao. There’s a fair chance that I was getting tear gassed and shot at with rubber bullets while you were an infant, but sure, I’m a noob. I have no issues with what you’re proposing, for the record, and I do not think that we should ignore them. All I’m saying is that the best strategy available…
Kristi Noem is in Portland today. She should see the real Portland—a city that’s peaceful and filled with people who care for one another. Instead of feeding Trump’s political theater, she needs to rein in the federal agents brutalizing peaceful protesters.
You deleted your post, but I’ll respond anyway. It’s not clear to me what “shutting public space,” “[t]argeting,” or “[f]ucking with” mean, specifically. But to the extent that they are non-violent, lawful actions that do not provide right-wing propaganda material, I’d support them.
This is the correct. Trump is going to keep trying to incite violence regardless of Portland’s response, and each time he does, he will look more foolish and desperate. Don’t give him what he wants. Forcing him to escalate to prove his bullshit narrative is the best currently available strategy.

Ok, cool. How about we just dispense with the analogies then? You clearly don’t believe that the response to Deadwood Barbie’s visit should be to ignore her and refrain from giving her any content to use in propaganda.
So what DO you think our response should be? Please be specific.
Here’s the thing: Trump is going to keep escalating no matter what. If Noem can’t incite violence, then he’ll send Vance. If he can’t do it, then maybe Trump comes himself.
But each time he looks more foolish. Plus, Trump has a legendarily short attention span, which works in our favor.
If he actually sends in the Guard or other military, then the rifle will be loaded, and our strategy will need to change. But there’s no reason to help Trump get to that place faster.
Well, we can really only take this stupid ass analogy so far. Here’s a better analogy that I’ve been using: Trump is pointing a rifle at us, and is going to keep pointing it regardless of what we do. We do not have the means to take the rifle away yet, but we can choose not to hand over the ammo.
Ok, let’s go with that analogy. What if the abuser is someone in a position of extreme power whom no one can hold accountable? What if the victim literally cannot leave without being murdered? Does the strategy change?
Yes, stop with the conspiracy hypotheses. We can and should do better. Fire Chief says no evidence of arson has yet been found. Even if he’s lying and a right-wing crank burned down the house, what does that information get you? Conservatives won’t even know about it, let alone believe it.
seeing otherwise smart people share the story that a south carolina judge’s beach house was burned to the ground because of a ruling against trump despite there being no evidence of that has been frustrating. just because the other side has abandoned facts doesn’t mean we can, too.
We’re in a moment now where it would be worth people taking three hours to watch Gandhi, particularly the scene of the salt march. There is value to making the brutality of your opponent so plain as day that no one can argue with it. The clarity of that brought down an empire
