It sucks so bad! Everybody loves our mail-in voting system here, but Republicans hold a supermajority in the legislature and just keep getting more and more extreme every year and our governor is basically just a rubber stamp.

As it happens, a party willing to go scorched earth and hold Republicans and their enablers accountable for their crimes is likely also a party strong enough to accomplish real reforms and (re)build big things.

But as we've seen, we can't have the latter without the former.

Very real. Because without a central algorithm Bluesky requires a fair bit of upfront work to curate useful feeds and (re)cultivate a network of followers, and engagement feels/functions differently when not driven by simple 'likes'. It's a good place but you're not crazy, the transition is hard.

AV companies have been steadily ratcheting up the danger level for years hoping no one notices.

It's worth noting, aggressive, impatient driving like this (from humans or computers) doesn't save travel time but people *perceive* it as faster.
This has BEEN happening. 2023: "Whereas the cars used to come to complete stops before crosswalks if a pedestrian was detected, they now do 'the creeping slow charge thing,' the member said, and 'kind of inch into the crosswalk' to bully people out of the way."
