That's why calling the end of narcissus and echo's story a cop out feels weird. Echo has found her place and she likes it. it would be nice if she could speak but erasing a disability doesn't like. Inherently fix anything lol. & her getting together with narcissus would def be worse lol

ONE MORE THING is that Meli has such highly-pressured-child-who-is-expected-to-do-great-things energy. It really spoke to me lol, especially the parts where she clearly has control issues over what her idea of a resolution is vs what her friends actually are happy with

& since it's from Meli's POV ofc we are not going to be privy to every personal convo. Reminds me of some criticisms of SU, which was also explicitly written from Steven's POV

Anyway. That's all to say I think there's valid criticism, but also I don't think it's that bad. But maybe I'm delulu lmao

Side note, I also don't really mind things happening off screen?? Like this game is explicitly a rogue like with a relatively rigid gameplay cycle from Meli's POV. I looove the game and characters, but even the ending we got felt a bit much for me

Mortals being able to control their own fate. I haven't hit that part of the fates' quest line, but I have hundreds of hours in this game and if I'm not seeing it yet then the average player is probably not gonna see it lol

I think if Hades 2 had hit certain point harder it would have been more accessible. Like, Zeus and hera close off Olympus for fear of Mel's ability to potentially end them, and essentially reduce their influence on the mortal realm. Or emphasizing more that meli's work now is in service to

It's reminiscent to me of Steven Universe, which I also love, and which also has a pretty divisive ending and just waaaay too much discourse lol. Personally I like the end of SU.

I'm actually not upset with how Hades 2 ended, what I think got fumbled was execution. it does have huge momentum for a turn, I mean hubris and gods being overcompensating assholes is a major theme for like every non-god NPC, so the ending doesn't have the right weight

For sure, and I usually use other software for editing. But it's bonkers that even opening PDFs in Edge/IE is preferable to using acrobat lol
