Extremely funny that people think this is now a Pritzker hate account when all we've been doing is documenting the same police violence we've been documenting well before this ICE surge

Sorry for disrupting your worldview. Welcome to what cops are!!!

all of the most important questions for me begin with "how"

Some comrades at About Face have been and continue their counter-military organizing. I'll bet they would have lessons to share with anyone who might try to counter ICE recruitment.

Do Zionists still think protesting outside a synagogue is antisemitic?
Screenshot from Tali Goldscheft:

PROTEST today at 1 pm!!! 📢📢📢

At the same time as hostages are hopefully being finally released, Zohran Mamdani is speaking at CBE (Congregation Beth Elohim) in Park Slope.

Beyond outrageous.

A major protest by the Brooklyn Jewish community, including CBE congregants and former congregants, will be taking place.

IN BROOKLYN? Join us, rain or shine!!!

Good morning from Gaza.

Despite the massive destruction and a severe shortage of heavy machinery, Gaza Municipality has begun clearing and reopening the streets.

You would never argue about swimming with someone who never swims and doesn't know how. Why would protesting be different?
prisonculture.bsky.social
You can save yourself a lot of time by never arguing with people who don't protest *ever* about protest. Keep it moving and reclaim your time.

Jesse L. Douglas, Aide to King in Marches From Selma, Is Dead at 90.

A lieutenant to Martin Luther King Jr. and a fellow preacher, he played a vital role in organizing voting-rights protests in 1965 that began with “Bloody Sunday.”

This week in 1988: 1,000+ ACT UP demonstrators shut down the FDA headquarters, demanding (and eventually winning) action on developing HIV/AIDS treatments. ACT UP's militant and creative actions always included powerful visual artwork, and paved the way for movements in the decades to come.
A photograph from the 1988 ACT UP demonstration outside the FDA. Many people are participating in a die-in on the front steps, holding mock tombstones with messages like "RIP - killed by the FDA" and "Dead from lack of drugs." A line of police officers (some with classic 80s mustaches) wearing riot helmets stands between them and the building; one cop wearing white gloves is walking through the demonstrators. Affixed to the 2nd story windows of the building is a series of posters and a large blank banner reading Silence = Death.

indeed. I think 'I am firing everyone hired' would be a sign of seriousness of intent to also dismantle the entire apparatus.

Border Patrol is terrorizing Gage Park this morning (video from Facebook, 55th & California reportedly 9:40am). SWRR reports agents are highly active and were also seen at the Pulaski orange line again: instagram.com/p/DPtwEY7DhTy

Hard to get "the people" to fight fascism when "the people" support so many tenets of fascism. The folks looked up the definition and said "yeah...get THEM." You not articulate enough to convince them that they're also "them."

We appreciate every person who takes time out of their busy schedules to help their community. When we volunteer we push back against narratives that say we don't care for each other.

It would be interesting for someone to run for US president on the platform of firing every one hired to work for ICE over the past 4 years. Firing all of them on day 1.

The omniforce is accountable only to Trump: they ignore state and local guidance, or court decisions. Forget about knowing the identity of the official. Now you may not know which agency he works for, or even if he is an agent of the state.
two men wearing American flag facemasks and tactical gear.
Look at the picture above. One of these is a member of a private militia that supports the President and was involved in an violent effort to overturn the election, the other is an agent of the state. Can you tell the difference?

Paused at the Charlie Kirk memorial outside Turning Point USA headquarters last night. Not a person there. People have moved on.

For about a week after it happened, this place was packed, media all over the place, people bringing flowers, crying, etc.

All things said…it’s *all* just sad.

Attacks on the federal workforce are also attacks on Black workers, who are overrepresented in the public sector.

Black unemployment is 7.5%. I'm reminded of Coates' observation that Black Americans regularly experience conditions that would be considered a crisis if whites faced them.

Anyone know who is working on countering ICE recruitment of people of color? I'm wondering if there's a current issue campaign focused on this that has also enlisted artists and cultural workers.

If you haven’t seen it, this footage from @apnews.com is incredibly important.

The intent here seems unmistakable, in two ways: (1) just read the genocide convention, here it **absolutely** is, and (2) this level of infrastructural destruction is, no question, meant as pre-development demolition.

Andrew Cuomo is incapable of speaking clearly and directly about Trump’s authoritarianism.
