Another amazing theatre experience with my children at the 'Willows Winter Hug' performance by 'Outside in Theatre' in the Abington Park Museum. Fantastic, interactive fun in a beautiful setting. On again tomorrow (22nd December).

I just heard that the most sacred story will be televised this Christmas, by the BBC. All together now: “I was lost, I was scared, but a story led me home again.” It may be the most profoundly important line in English literature.

C4's 'School that Banned Smartphones' trailer really irritates me. Starts with children in tears & adults striding into the room smiling smugly. No empathy or recognition that something is important to them & or their distress is part of why kids have such a difficult relationship with education.

A lovely & seasonal experience at the Christmas Light Switch On. Great to see the mayor, Cllr Paul Joyce, & to have a sneak preview of the Royal & Derngate's excellent 'Jolly Christmas Postman'. Definitely in the Christmas spirit now!

Brilliant to spend a soggy afternoon in Abington Park Museum Christmas Fair. Some really beautiful finds, esp looking forward to reading 'Northampton 1290' by local author Rosemary Sturge. So much talent & creativity in our town. Open tomorrow too. @abingtonandphipps.bsky.social
