It's very cold across most of the country, so to counteract that, quote-post a favorite photo from a summertime baseball game.
(Cubs wild card clinch game. It was in October, but I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt so I'm counting it.)

Finally, I'm glad I was in the car all day instead of having to pay attention to what was going on in the news. Listening to @audrelawdamercy.bsky.social 's book about originalism was a much better use of my time. /6 end Back to the rock pile tomorrow.

Once I got back to town, I went over to watch the Ice Hogs free outside open practice. It was a great event for the community. 5/

I have to mention that the Montana State fans were terrible sports. They booed everything ISU did. You can barely hear the ISU band playing in this video while the players are running out onto the field. They booed the cheerleaders. We're not even rivals. It was way too much. /4

When one is in Nashville, one must make the pilgrimage to Parnassus Books. I'm practicing for after I finish the unread books in my house. (I'm down to 50. These are not going on my list.) On my way home I stopped on campus to pay my respects. Bought a new sweatshirt. 3/

Timing being everything, the ISU women's basketball team was playing at Belmont in Nashville the day before. So, I went a day early to support them. That night, I went over to the Cheekwood Botanic Garden for the holiday lights. I also walked through the Nashville zoo and enjoyed the 60° temp. 2/

2025 was... a lot. Sticking to sports, my favorites games I attended were the Cubs home opener, Cubs wild card clinch game and the Sky game where they retired CP's jersey. I'm kicking off 2026 by watching ISU football play for the national championship Monday night in Nashville. #fearthebird.

I'm at 53 books read for the year 2025. These are my December reads. The Michelle Obama book was beautiful. The stories with each dress/occasion were super interesting. I loved the Churchill book. The other two books were just okay. My hope for everyone is we continue to read freely in 2026.
