In the paper, we suggest a way of implementing a developmental starting point into the PP framework. Moreover, we propose a toolbox that allows models to not just update but also restructure. This is of general use but specifically relevant for development as the input is still changing rapidly.

We argue that PP (or any theory of cognition for that matter) can only be considered a relevant and plausible theory if it is able to account for the developmental trajectory as well.

In this paper, led by Emma K. Ward, we assess the extent to which current PP accounts include a developmental mechanism that can explain how infants would begin to perceive and learn about the world. How is a first experience possible when the theory assumes a comparison to previous experiences?

Glad, though not surprised, you agree ^_^

Mind you, I don't have an entire course to talk about it. I just need to give them (1st year master's students) the gist of it. I have about 10-12 slides to cover this part.

Thanks Susanne! I clearly failed at coming back 8 months ago, but I'm giving it another try ^_^

And it's not Michael Chiklis who I'm thinking of...I think.

Pity! Thanks for thinking along though. It's soooo annoying that I cannot do reverse image search in my brain 😂

This guy from the Netflix series Tex Mex Motors is what triggered the memory... Does that help? 😅

Fits the description but not the series I mean. The guy is a little older I think... like in his late 30s or 40s (I think... I was also 20 years younger 20 years ago 😅)

Ik ook! Ik zat ook al met die tool te spelen en had precies dezelfde vraag... De meeste verschuivingen waren best te begrijpen naar van GL naar JA21?!
