I guess it's better than Towmrahnui on the main trunk line

Pronunciation of Taupō has got steadily better, but Taumarunui is still often pronounced Taumaranui

I have a target of running 100m in under 10s, but to make the goal easier, I will adjust the distance to 30m and if I achieve my result, still say I can run 100m in under 10s.

I can sympathise with this point of view.

There are some decisions made that politicians maybe *should* feel uncomfortable about. Obviously the line is drawn at acts that are already criminal.

Was reminded both on TV and earlier by my wife that it was protests outside politician's homes that stopped the Dawn Raids. With our politicians increasingly curating where they are available, I am unsure how I feel about it being a criminal act to protest outside someone's home.

I think I am going to contact my Kiwisaver provider and maybe change my fund type for a while (maybe a year or so)

The thing is in NZ you don't need a brown paper bag, just donate to their political party.

Grift must be a major contributor to the US GDP.

...and NO EVIDENCE OF WRONGDOING. Amazing.

This whole story is wild (but I refuse to use the word "unbelievable" any more). Homan accepted 50K in a brown paper bag from FBI agents, in exchange for a promise of Border-related contracts when he was appointed in the Trump administration (he's the border czar), the FBI didn't get the money back.

WHITEHOUSE: What happened to the $50k in cash that the FBI paid to Tom Homan in a paper bag?

BONDI: The investigation of Mr Homan was subjected to a full review by the FBI. They found no credible evidence of any wrongdoing

W: That was not my Q

B: You're welcome to discuss this with Director Patel

There's always talks of raising it becuase it is unaffordable, apparently. Tax cuts for rich are affordable, but retirement payments are unaffordable, or something like that.

In NZ we have Universal Healthcare. It isn't perfect but it's better than the US system (imho)

One job at Tank juice bar, 218 applications: Will PM’s welfare crackdown on teens work?

You know, if the government just does what Treasury wants it to do and raises retirement age to 72...

...well...that's going to make the unemployment stats even worse.

“Luxon said the government did not want to "send a message to young people" that they could "just drift into welfare and that's it".

I know someone with *two* entry level roles who got *hundreds* of applicants.

There aren’t enough jobs.

Media accepting this propaganda at face value is concerning.
