Another tick off my bucket list! Dawn at Avebury today. It couldn't have been more beautiful and special with the sky and the mist. Amazing experience.

It may be getting colder, but at least it's not this frosty! This photograph was taken on a Uni of Bham field trip to Svalbard in 1951.

The photo is in our exhibition celebrating 125 years of student life and research centred around the Museum - visit before it ends on 31 Oct!

A good solid #GettingFit walk today.
Saw this sign, placed for drivers coming off the A38. The main road has often been closed over the past few years because of the HS2 works, in one direction or the other & sometimes both. Inconvenient in some ways, but nicer for walking because of less traffic.
A yellow road sign which states that the road will be closed for Highways Improvements from 27/10/25 for one weeks. Yes, it says one weeks.

A literary Iguanodon at the Earth Sciences Library. Do any other libraries have dinosaurs or other antediluvian creatures carved into the furniture?

Another Thursday?
Surely not...
Denholm Elliott as Norman Shenley in the episode "Rude Awakening" of the tv series Hammer House of Horror.
Poor old Norman is looking mightily perturbed - presumably the prospect of yet another Thursday.

It’s been years since I read 1964’s Amazing Spider-Man Annual #1. Crikey but Steve Ditko was at the top of his game. Visually, I can’t help but believe it’s the definitive Spidey. If such a thing exists, it exists here. (*1)

Been tidying up my posts and muting some more words & names.
I want (& probably need) it to feel more fun when I'm on here.

BBC Weather: 0% chance of rain

Me: walking through rain on my #GettingFit walk

Oh yes. Very creepy.
And it looked exactly like that here!
Same carriage. Plumes on horses. The lot. But in colour.
Unnerving.

Interviewer: no, I meant do you have any questions about the job?

Me: so, what do you think of my time machine?
lostinmilbury.bsky.social
Horse-drawn coffin-laden carriage just gone past on the main road.
Not something you see every day. Or want to.

Love it!
I first saw this aged around 9 or 10 and the reveal when they take their masks off terrified me!

Another Wednesday?

Love them both.
The film is properly breathtaking, I reckon.
