@cubicgarden are you perhaps searching for the wrong thing. AIUI "en-GB" and "en-US" are language encodings but keyboard layouts are sometimes described as something like "UK" or "UK-101".

As to how to fix it - I believe in Wayland it will depend on which compositor and/or DE you use.

@WiteWulf @0xabad1dea We don't have kids to confuse/embarrass so my wife I sometimes just sing the hamster dance tune at each other, because it is seared into our brains for the rest of our lives.

Warrington is almost exactly halfway between London and Glasgow on the West Coast main line. So if instead I look for return tickets to/from Glasgow rather than Euston, you'd expect a similar price, right?

We are going to London for a weekend in a couple of weeks time for a birthday. Mrs LT and I have a Two Together railcard which gives us 1/3 off train prices. So I thought rather than drive we could take the train, much more relaxing, better for the environment, all of that.

Nope, we're driving.

Train ticket search showing that for an off-peak return it would be over £150 for the pair of us, for a standard return it would be close to £500.

@keefeglise In the 80s I lived in Chingford, so the rolling stock was ancient but the line itself was reasonably reliable (as it still is today) due to being just a small branch line.

@keefeglise Back in the olden days before I moved up north, I lived for a decade or so in Enfield Lock. That's on the main Cambridge & Stansted Express line into Stratford and Liverpool Street. As well as the slow commuter trains from Hertford East into London.
