Especially with Reform now outflanking Labour on wealth redistribution. Mamdani's success against establishment Dems shows a passion for renewal and actual LEFTIST policy. A policy platform consisting of "wouldn't it be great if we just made people's lives better directly?". Have some goddamn spine.

This is Trump surrounded by idiotic yes-men. Full on Ratchet Effect reality. This NEEDS to enable the rise of more Mamdanis. A bold vision on the left that is ON THE LEFT. Labour had their chance and went after pensioners and the disabled. Who can be surprised Reform are polling well?

Can we not go back to normal and the next story? Can we stop for a second and acknowledge the US is a literal fascist state with no separation of powers and no due process? Habeas corpus about to die? ICE raids and the deportation of American citizens? Why is there any sanewashing of any of this?

What infuriates me the most is the pussyfooting around this bill. Yes, it's a budget bill, but the headlines need to be around the fact that Trump is effectively killing Americans with deprivations to rural hospitals, who rely on public funding, and the enormous transfer of wealth that this entails.

Laughing in front of cages designed to hold migrants and refugees, many of whom came to this country fleeing extreme violence and poverty, and hoping to raise their children in a more compassionate country. And many of whom followed all the legal procedures to enter the country.

I would say I don't know how these people sleep at night. But I do because they don't give a fuck.

The unbelievable condescension we’re already seeing today towards working class people- suggesting they don’t travel to Europe or their kids might not want to go to university and study in Europe- is quite something to behold.

WELKER: Your secretary of state says everyone who's here, citizens and non-citizens, deserve due process. Do you agree?

TRUMP: I don't know. I'm not a lawyer. I don't know.

WELKER: Don't you need to uphold the Constitution?

The state of the newspapers this morning: a near-universal attack on trans people, most of it grossly exaggerating the implication of yesterday's ruling. Almost joyous in its spite.

Was this not an exact plot-line in Season 5 of Community with Pierce and his liquid-nitrogen cooled sperm cylinders?
