We demand the immediate release of the Flotilla’s crews.

From the central Mediterranean to Palestine.
For a free Gaza. For a free Palestine.

The very same European governments who let people die while crossing the Mediterranean are complicit in these crimes. Financing the siege, arming Israel and hiding behind empty statements. But millions around the world are refusing to look away: demonstrating, striking and rising up in solidarity.

Their act placed humanity, international solidarity and civil disobedience above borders.

Systematic destruction of Palestinian life, enforced through famine, bombardments, and displacement, is genocide.

Solidarity with the Global Sumud Flotilla

The ships of the Sumud Flotilla have been violently intercepted by Israeli forces. 42 boats, with more than 400 activists from across the world, had set sail to try to break the illegal siege on Gaza and to deliver aid to a population deliberately starved.

The 3rd of October should serve as a reminder: seeking safety is a human right and must be protected. Criminals in parliaments must be held accountable for every single death. We need policies that value life, not violence.

Protect humans not borders.
Borders kill.
louisemichelcrew.bsky.social
Instead of preventing more lives being lost in the Mediterranean, the EU operates and funds one of the deadliest border regimes in the world. Supporting and training Libyan groups to perform violent interceptions and leaving people to die at sea.

On the 3rd of October, 2013,
more than 360 people drowned in front of Lampedusa, 155 survived.

Since then, more than 32,000 people have been confirmed dead in the waters between Libya, Tunisia and Italy - the true number is likely to be higher.

Freedom of movement should not be a luxury reserved for passport holders of certain countries.
It should be a universal right.

Freedom of movement for everyone!

Yet the current border and visa system divides the world between those allowed to move freely, and those criminalised for trying and whose way of moving is breaking a border first to claim asylum.

People migrate for a variety of reasons: wars, climate collapse, inequality, family, love, study, curiosity, or simply the desire to live with dignity. All of these are valid reasons.
louisemichelcrew.bsky.social
But war isn’t the only reason people run. Extreme weather, poverty and systemic injustice push millions from their homes every year. Half the world lives on less than $2 a day. To put it simply: those who suffer most are always the poorest.

The world is on fire, literally and politically. In 2024 alone, 32.5 million people had to escape war, dictatorships, extreme weather, hunger. It was the year with the highest number of wars and armed conflicts since the end of the Second World War.

4. Anti-fascism is not an organisation to be banned. It is a decentralised and necessary practice, a daily act of care and defiance. Without it, every struggle for justice becomes impossible.

To criminalise anti-fascism is to clear the path for fascism.

Long live Antifa!

3. In the last few days alone:
- the US President signed an order classifying Antifa as a terrorist organisation.
- In the Netherlands, members of the ruling coalition have pushed for the same.
- Hungary is urging the EU to follow suit.

This move to criminalise Antifa is not about “security”.
louisemichelcrew.bsky.social
2. It is solidarity in action, defending those targeted, giving space to the marginalised, and resisting oppressive structures wherever they appear: in the streets, at sea, in courtrooms and beyond.

That is exactly why governments are attempting to criminalise it.

1. Fascism is not a moment in history. It is a strategy of power: obedience enforced through hierarchy and the use of force. It thrives on division, exclusion, and the persecution of those who refuse to submit.

Anti-fascism is the refusal to accept such abuse of power. 🧵

🚨 Sea-Watch 5 under fire while rescuing 66 people at sea.
At night, we were threatened by a Libyan militia vessel and ordered to leave “their waters.” Minutes after everyone was safely on board, a shot was fired. 👉 sea-watch.org/en/libyan-militia-fires-on-rescue-ship-sea-watch-5

RECLAIM THE SEA
Solidarity with the f.Lotta

A fleet of boats has set sail south of Lampedusa to reclaim the #MediterraneanSea as a space of resistance. Together they denounce Europe’s racist migration policies. Policies that kill, imprison, and try to silence those on the move.

26 people safely disembarked in Porto Empedocle

After yesterday’s rescue, all survivors were able to safely disembark this afternoon in the Sicilian Porto Empedocle.

2. Among the 26 people rescued is a pregnant woman. They are now safely on board the Louise Michel, while we await the assignment of a port of safety.

1. 26 people on board the Louise Michel

After an alert from @alarmphoneofficial and a spotting by @seawatchcrew’s Seabird, we located a very overcrowded rubber boat in distress, dangerously low in the water.

5. These are EU-financed militias turning international waters into a lawless zone, created and supported by the EU's brutal border regime.

4. We were followed by this ship for several hours, and forced to abandon the search for the boat we had briefly spotted.

We are extremely concerned about the boat and what happened to those on board.
