Hey everybody! @drjuliawester.bsky.social and I have a new paper!

We surveyed over 800 scientists, science communicators, and science educators who use social media.

Conclusion: Scientists no longer find Twitter useful or pleasant, and many have switched to Bluesky! 🧪🌎🦑

Amid all the noise, heartbreak & chaos, I’m reminding myself to pause… to breathe… to find the small places where peace still grows. 🌱 My garden has been that place for me—a reminder that even in difficult seasons, beauty and life push through.

Wishing peace for you & yours, however you find it. 🪴🌼

I just learned Anhingas are not herons; they belong to the Anhingidae family. Both are large, have long necks & are primarily found in aquatic environments, but they represent distinct species with differing evolutionary backgrounds

Growing & learning in beautiful ways everyday

Fantastic picture and I always hope to see more bees!
Imagine a flower that looks like a spiky ball, like a tiny hedgehog. The Globe Thistle has flowerheads that are round and prickly, measuring about 2 inches across. They are typically a vibrant blue, sometimes described as steel blue, dusty lavender, or deep purple-blue, especially in varieties like 'Veitch's Blue'. The surface of the globe is made up of many tiny, star-shaped flowers that give it a spiky or bristly feel. There are several in the picture with a bee feeding on one of them

Kansas, Texas, Oklahoma, and other deep-red states are leading the pack in rural hospital closures. This is what happens when you gut Medicaid, reject federal dollars, and treat healthcare like a luxury.

You can’t blame “woke” when there’s no ER for 100 miles.
