The late Gerald Locklin, who taught at Long Beach State for many years, had the same take. He didn’t make a formal submission a requirement of the class, but he strongly encouraged it, and would suggest zines and small presses to query (he knew a lot of them!). The submission party is a fun idea.

I use Times New Roman for non-work projects but just stick with the default Arial at work (Google Suite). I could easily change that in my settings. But I haven’t.
