Among patients with #Gout, achieving serum urate <6 mg/dL with urate-lowering therapy was associated with lower 5-year risk of major adverse cardiovascular events, especially for those at high cardiovascular risk. ja.ma/3OhcTr7

Medicines that treat #gout by targeting blood urate levels have been found to also reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke, according to a landmark study 💊

Published in @jamainternalmed.com, this is the first large-scale real-world study on this topic
