How does one get a Fulbright fellowship to conduct research about Ukraine when a war means no such funding is possible? You apply to teach and research in Moldova, instead - just a three-hour road trip to Odesa. Made it through Round 1 and now it heads to Chisinau for further review.

As an introduction, thought I would let folks know that my book Trailer Park America: Reimagining Working-class Communities has been out for close to a year. It is an environmental, community action story about slow violence in a mobile home park that eventually closed.
