This is a way of creating masks out of painterly textures and using those to quickly lay down interesting shapes and strokes early on for some nice stylized colour and roughness variation!

Today is World Wombat Day so I must again say that my favourite ever blessing is an Indigenous Australian one and it goes "may the wombat of happiness snuffle through your underbrush"
