How doable is woodworking at home? I've never done it before but there's no workshops around or places to learn but I'm not sure how achievable it is to buy stuff yourself and self teach online?

Inching my way closer and closer to finishing this piece! I'm actually pleased with how it's turning out.

My time at Bithell Games has been fantastic, but today it unfortunately comes to a close.

I've been fortunate enough to work alongside some great people. If you're hiring then I can't recommend them enough, they're awesome.

Back on environment art, lemme tell you about @jakebenbow.bsky.social . This is Jake’s FIRST GAME, and yet he arrived guns blazing, and delivered so many of the most beautiful environments and vehicles in the game. He’s a superstar, and is respected across the team for being just..that..damn..good
Process breakdown for the rocks in my current personal project. Sculpted in ZBrush, processed in Houdini, rendered in Unreal.
Been learning a bit of speedtree for a personal project I'm working up. Very out of my wheelhouse but happy with the results, might revisit them again later to make a few tweaks.

Shoutout to @artofdape.bsky.social, would recommend his excellent vegetation course to anyone starting out with trees.
I cranked up the subdivision from 6 to 7 on one of my material spheres in Marmoset, took it to about 80m triangles and was using over 2gb of vram 😂 I always think those sorts of input fields should have a warning that asks "are you sure you wanna do this?" if you're about to put in a silly number

Definitely need to improve my speed and try to not get bogged down in the weeds, but I do think this turned out really nice!
