Where did you say your shed was, again?

Did they try sunlight? Or bleach? I heard there was a correlation.

It’s my dream, however, that the various woodworking factions (please don’t call us splinter groups) one day unite to overthrow the concrete usurpers, restoring the natural order.

And I see IWF just announced IWF West in San Antonio on their alternate years, so another option, but that will put the date pretty close to AWFS Vegas time. (And probably compete for vendors and attendees.) Neither are as large as World of Concrete unfortunately.

Yep, awfsfair.org was in late July. It alternates with iwfatlanta.com every other year. IWF in Atlanta is a little bigger, but slightly more focused on industrial/professional woodworking. Of course, if you’re ever near Des Moines, stop by our office and I can give you the nickel tour of our shop.

I’m going to guess ipe (Pronounced ee-pay) based on the flecking in the grain and the density & weight. Brazilian hardwood. Long-lasting in decks and outdoor furniture. Resists fire and moisture, even salt water. Used in Atlantic shore boardwalks. A bit pricey, though. Tough on blades and bits.

Yes! I do this all the time. The brown paper bags always get diverted out to my shop. I like to use it between finish coats.

That offer stands for any woodworkers passing through Des Moines. I give the best tours because I’ll let you ride on the freight elevator even though the sign says not to and I show you all the weird parts of the basement. Not in a serial killer way; in a the-building-has-a-lot-of-history way.

Will be a short article about making custom half-tone images using a V-bit on the CNC. Here was my test piece featuring Georgie

Don’t do it. My family owes our lives to my mother-in-law, a weather app, and frantic texts from 3 states away any time a tornado is within 300 miles of us.

Seems firmly *in hand* in you ask me.

This represents a single criteria on one of 11 saws in the test during which we will measure multiple times, then average. We try to be thorough, but stay firmly in the realm of the experiential. You're not going to use your mitersaw like it's a science project, so we try to test like woodworkers.

The sole thing that kept me from being a Satisfactory addict is that, apparently as I aged, 1st person games started making me nauseous. Tried to power through, but getting to tube level of tech made it ten times worse. I used to play a mean Unreal Tournament. Get off my lawn. You kids today.

+1 on Bessey. German company. Their North American distribution is out of Ontario. Very good clamps.

I’m fine with CNC being real woodworking, but Q-tips are a bridge too far.
