When I woke up today and saw the news surrounding McBride it filled me with an uncontrollable fury. These so called “allies” can’t even spare the time to draft a statement in defense? And for her to downplay it as a distraction? Sickening. We already know how this ends, we’ve all read the poem.

I hope with all my heart that you’re right but, I hoped that Harris would win and this is where it brought me. I cannot rely on hope any longer. I need to take matters into my own hands and work to make my own world, as little as it may be, a better place.
despite the world becoming scary i still have a perhaps niave but unwaivering belief that a better world is possible

I want to remind everyone that the far right sees transgender people as being worthy of segregation out of general society, "separate but equal" treatment that of course, is never equal.
So much so that Iowa Republicans literally tried to redefine the word equal to not mean "same" or "identical."
