It’s a good argument to be fair

I can see the appeal but the idea of suddenly having a hundred bettas to care for and rehome isn’t high on my list.

You’d need to seperate them after breeding and deal with all the fry it’s just not worth the headache just for the sake of his engagement. Live food lots of places to hide and you’ll have a happy guy

I really wouldn’t recommend keeping a male and female betta together. All the potential headache just isn’t worth it. Get some honey gouramis if you want to see two fish canoodle! Their little dances are so cute!

They are much better swimmers! Long finned bettas get tired quickly and will be more inclined to just chill whereas if given the room most plakats love patrolling their territory. My current boy Diogenes is chief inspector!
