Three weeks into the school run and my new radicalising thing is cars ever so gently rolling forward as my daughter scooters over the zebra crossing. What are you doing. Take your foot off the accelerator there’s a fucking four year old in front of you

Drivers, don't do this. To anyone on a zebra crossing, not just little kids going to school. You're supposed to *stop*, not slow down to a crawl and play chicken with the pedestrians. Related, if a driver does this to me, I start walking extremely very slowly, all the while maintaining eye contact.

Universities enable people to explore their interests and passions and prepare for the world of work. They have become the go-to institutions for research and the generation of ideas, and therefore are engines for both economic growth and social mobility. www.nature.com/articles/d41...
Universities are — and must continue to be — a force for good
From funding squeezes to political attacks, higher education is in trouble in many parts of the world. Fresh ideas will allow the sector to thrive and deliver value for society.

One of the worst catastrophes in the world. “At least 260,000 civilians trapped in El Fasher face a dire choice: risk being starved or bombed if they stay…, or killed if they flee…Rape is commonplace. The [last standing, bombed-over-30x] hospital treats about 40 sexual assault victims every week.”

have to say I think #StrandedOnHoneymoonIsland is pretty manipulative and quite cruel. A car-crash watch, but it's making some of the cast really unhappy
