NEW: A New York City jail official violated city sanctuary laws by providing information about two immigrants to the federal government.

NEW: A NY state judge issued a final ruling in the City Council lawsuit against Mayor Eric Adams over his attempt to let ICE into Rikers.

Judge ruled the executive order was “illegal, null, and void,” because of an “impermissible appearance of a conflict of interest."

BREAKING: A federal raid at a warehouse in Edison, New Jersey led to the arrest of 29 immigrant workers on Wednesday, per officials.

NEW: The deportation of a mother and her 6-year-old girl to Ecuador touched a nerve in New York.

To be clear, Ho's ruling was narrowly focused on Mr. Lopez Benitez's detention and subsequent release.

It did not impact ICE practice of conducting arrests in immigration courts.

There are at least two other lawsuits, in DC and New York, challenging courthouse arrests, though.

This was Judge Dale Ho's ruling in the habeas corpus petition that released Carlos Javier Lopez Benitez, a Paraguayan asylum seeker, after he was detained by ICE in immigration court.

The judge, Lewis Kaplan, ordered ICE to reduce the number of migrants, ensure they have sleeping mats, and facilitate calls to lawyers.

It also orders ICE to ensure they have access to lawyers and proper hygienic and medical care.
