Been before Christmas since I went bushwalking for a couple of hours. Nice of the bush to carve out a makeshift seat along the track for me. I needed the pit stop.

Not long before Christmas I stayed for a couple of days at the Walwa Riverside Caravan Park on the Upper Murray. Beautiful part of the world. Big shoutout to Kev and Heidi who were great hosts and Des at the Walwa Pub. All very friendly and welcoming people. Hope they’re doing ok right now.

VicEmergency app lit up with fires everywhere and lots of emergency warnings, evacuate immediately and watch and act warnings. Phone’s pinging constantly with updates. Zoom in on the app map and it looks a hell of a lot worse.

It’s only going to be around 30°C where I live but I know many parts of Victoria will be experiencing mid-40s today. Plus there’s existing fires already burning and the chance of others starting. “Catastrophic” conditions in a few regions. Be careful out there folks. It’s going to be awful today.
