If an evil genie or witch or so forth is reading this post I’m kidding.

No man I am not like that. But Substack is founded by a lot of the same fucking billionaire turds ruining everything else like Twitter.

I’m Catholic but thank you my friend Greg

You still on Twitter?

Obviously there are lots of people who can't spare any money for a newsletter project, and there should be other free options out there, but the lowest tier is $29 a month for 1000 subs.

100k total subs on Ghost is $3288 a year, which is sure a lot more than free, but if 100k people want to read a person's newsletter they should definitely have a paid tier.

Let's say you've got 50k total subs on ghost, that's like $2500 a year. 50k subs on substack, with the typical 10% paying, at, say, $5 a month, is revenue of $300,000 a year, 10% going to substack being $30,000. Unless I'm very dumb here.

But Substack's network bro, I need the network effect bro. This is from like one week two years after I stopped even using it. I could repeat this many many more times but I ran out of room. Or maybe I'm just extremely popular in Vietnam (?)

Ghost is an open-source non-profit based in the UK and it costs much less to use than substack.

I repeat myself, but there is no ethical blogging under capitalism, and people gotta draw their own lines, but you should be aware that many people in your potential audience very much have their own lines and you are crossing them.
