When 99% of politicians who wear the red poppy do so in honour of a racist empire's militarism, it's (been) time (for decades) for the decent among us to ditch it in favour of a symbol which honours the courage of those who defended us against fascism, without glorifying racism or war.

I got new glasses last week which look ok, but they're fuzzy at the specified 80cm. Sharp at 40cm, which is no good when there has to be an instrument between me & the music stand.

The pic with blossom and tiny just-set fruit was 2 days ago! The other one, two months - those have all ripened & been eaten.
The soil quality here is dodgy - drains too quick through the ruins.../
