I plan to share my journey because I know that there is value in sharing it as a racialized, trans, queer, and multiply disabled and chronically ill parent to two children.

If you want to be a part of this journey, please consider messaging and letting me know.

The plan is to start trying this upcoming spring. This means that I will need to prioritize rest, prevent flares, build strength, and more. I plan to schedule visits with occupational therapy and physical therapy to see how I can build strength and fortitude.

Yes, these times are scarier than ever but I know that I am loved and my beloveds with whom I have shared with have offered to continue to give support and care. For all that was given and for all that I have received, I have much gratitude.

I want ya'll to understand that it is my motherhood that has shifted and changed me and that is why I prioritize my children and parenting. I have love to give and always have, to my children, to other children, to all beloved people in my life.

That is not to say that I place a moral judgement or hold criticism of parents who do not hold the same thought and belief.

My decision to try and have a third child is because I do value and believe in reproductive justice - and I know that in spite of my disabilities and other challenges, I am first and foremost a mother.

The medication that was discontinued managed my pre-diabetes and insulin resistance, and I will be seeing my endocrinologist to discuss next steps.

I have been off my birth control and have started menstruating after months of not having my menses. My body has also started to shift and change in other ways - including weight gain that will likely continue until my insulin resistance can be managed.

If I have the privilege and opportunity to conceive, maintain pregnancy, and have another child - I hope to labor and birth with my spouse and my son with me, which I have asked my son already and as of now, he has consented to be with me.

I am considered high-risk due to my age and my health, but I am still going to prioritize building a life with my spouse and children and that includes expanding our family. My spouse and I continue to hold conversations with each other and with our children about this hope and dream.

This time, I plan to find a doula who holds shared values, hope to receive care and support from a certified nurse midwife, and work with an IBCLC to prioritize chestfeeding.

I've met with Maternal Fetal Medicine and I've started the process of discontinuing one medication, planning to discontinue certain medications prior to trying to conceive, and will be working with providers to switch medications that are not compatible with pregnancy and chest/breastfeeding.

and I am more informed because I am a trained birthworker, childbirth educator, training to be an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, and continuously learning new knowledge as a birthworker.

Our first was a surprise and our second was planned. With each pregnancy, I was not as informed as I am now -

My spouse and I are planning to have a 3rd child.
