When I was married, I often felt the need to apologize for my then-husband’s behavior. I’m now feeling a triggeringly similar need to apologize to the world for my country’s government’s behavior. So many of us don’t support it; please don’t write us off as people.

I’m an American citizen. I am embarrassed by my government at the moment. I do not want to buy Greenland nor Panama. I don’t believe Canada‘s should be the 51st state. I did not vote for this imbecile in the White House who works for our foreign adversaries. Somebody please help us 🙏

I am fortunate enough to remember The Beforetimes, when we didn’t have Target or Amazon and had to visit multiple actual stores for our marginally useful items, so I’m not worried about boycotting them. It’s the kids I worry about.
