Still a thing for some people. For the rest of us, a good “two foot” paint job is where it’s at.

Most of those were easy to paint. I recall cranking out lanterns, in particular, in a day or two.

Just finished acid blobs and bone eaters last week! They were a. Ice “palette cleanser” after some difficult Rajakur models for Conquest.

Best advice I got was: “treat it like golf and play your hook”. Synthetic brushes nearly always develop a hook so adapting your brush use is the path of least resistance. (Or get a nice sable brush, but treat it well so it lasts)

I feel like CB has tried every metal alternative (except PVC). The new fliers use a great material who’s name escapes me but definitely a step up from Siocast.

Besides, I remember the switch from metal to plastic. People hated plastic. Fast forward to now: people hate metal. It’s all about what’s familiar.

Normally for a mini this large, I’d prefer plastic, but there is something cool about the heft. Even if I know that if I drop it, it will dent the floor and despite all the pins, will violently disassemble into its component parts.

I found a design on YouTube for a small spray booth that vents into a 5 gallon bucket. Not perfect, but allows indoor spray prime when the weather is bad.

I still miss my Bloodbowl 3rd edition league. 2026 might be the year that I, too, get back into BB after a ~30 year break.

I mean, I can’t complain too much. I’m going to get a ton of great games, but all the February games have minis to paint. My Pile o’ Shame(tm) is going to start solidifying under its own weight.
