If you think AI slop replacing human art is a good thing, I will cut you open, put gorgonzola inside and sew you back up

If we’re going to get really no quarter about genAI usage, I’m going to need people to learn the difference between AI and genAI real fast.

don't worry, guys, the most human parts of the game- the artistic development- is all we're replacing with the plagiarism machine! all the final stuff you play with will have a human labour veneer so we can avoid being cancelled

transitioning is a profoundly lonely process and I'm sure this woman would appreciate her friend good-heartedly describing how her (probably experimental) style comes across, so she can choose if that's what she wants and can consciously double down if so. going behind her back is just mean.

I saw a video just yesterday that was exploring how useless AI is as a reference
References are most important for fine details or awkward angles, the exact things AI can't do, because it only approximates human art... which needs references to assist those exact things
It literally can't do it

AI bones are inherently brittle, and anything built on them will rot.
“Oh I only used AI for placeholders or idea starters” does not make it better! If you are using it for any part of the creative process then you’re no longer doing the process!
"placeholder text" "concept art" either the temporary thing you put in matters to the process, in which case you need to get a human to work on it, or it doesn't, in which case you can just as easily put a bright pink rectangle that says PLACEHOLDER in and save everyone time and effort

this is the realest shit ever posted and when you become a parent you spend a lot of time internally screaming about it
People who argue "who cares it's just for kids" all I can say is fuck right off. Kids deserve thoughtful, well-made movies that challenge them just as much as adults do. Kids aren't stupid, and they remember how movies affect them basically forever.

Greetings, new 18th-century and Material Culture pals! I offer to you my favorite (non-gravestone) 18th-century artifact:

Staffordshire teapot (ca.1760-65) from the Met

bonus: it was once owned by a guy named Cecil, Lord Revelstoke, which is a great #romance name

I saved a screenshot of a comment a reader left on “Carmilla of Green Gables” because it makes me smile when I’m feeling bad about my writing.

It says, “ffs y did u give me nightmares goddamn I legit had to put my phone down a couple times just to avoid freaking out wtf”
What is the best compliment you ever received? Putting aside whether or not you believed it.
