QRP with your wings art!

Done for an art challenge on RJ Palmer's Discord. Had to make a creature out of 1 of 3 objects (a lantern, a boot, or an old gun, I chose lantern.)

This is old, but it's from an art challenge on RJ Palmer's Discord: "Genre Swap". Take a character and swap the genre they belong in. I chose to do Barioth from Monster Hunter as a mech, speculating what it would be like if "Monster Hunter" was more in the mecha genre.

The Robot Barioth's body is made up of overlapping metal plates, the spikes on its wings have blue electricity arcing between them and the body replacing the wing membrane with the energy. It retains the Barioth's typical white, black, cream, and orange colouration. Standing next to the robot Barioth is a hunter in Barioth armour, but the pieces are clearly made of metal, originating from the robot Barioth. the the side is a diagram of the robot Barioth's weak points, similar to the geometric art style seen in the games, but somewhat more digital looking. The head, wings, and tail are coloured red and marked as "critical" points.

#CreaturesOfTheLongestNight prompt 10: Shelter.

Hermits of the North may be big, but they're also calm and gentle and their shells can shelter more than just themselves. Travellers track their slow, meandering paths across the north and leave supplies in their shells for others.
Art of a massive creature in a snowy forest on a winter's night. The creature looks like a cross between a turtle and a crab and towers over the trees. It has 6 legs that resemble a turtle's, but they are segmented and covered in carapace. It has 2 large crab claws it is using to eat an entire pine tree. Its head looks similar to a turtle's, but it has 4 red eyes that poke up from its head like a crab's and its mouth has mandibles like a crab's. Its underbelly and the underside of it's shell is covered in white fluffy fur, and the same fur sticks out between joints in its carapace. Its shell has 2 layers to it, and between the 2 layers are holes, one of the holes has a visible bedroll, curtains, and a light in it. In the air all around the creature are floating jellyfish-like creatures that glow with a pale blue-green light.

When you're lost, you should follow an iceheart.

Portions of the skeleton, such as the limbs, have been fully engulfed or replaced by the ice crystals. It stands in the field, its head turned back towards the viewer, the far side of its face is fully covered with ice crystals, the near side of the face still has its eye socket visible, it glows with a pale blue light and a trail of glowing smoke emanates from the eye socket. Some of the ice crystals have the same pale blue glow. The sky is very clear and some faint auroras can be seen.

Stormwalker. Stormdancer. Stormwatcher. Stormbringer. Mother of Storms. The Eye Within the Eye. The Howling Shepherd. So many names.

They stay so still for so long icicles form in their fur. You could track one in the same spot for weeks, barely seeing it move an inch, then suddenly one day they're not there anymore.

Spring keepers create hot springs when they soak in pools, but if you chase them away the water turns cold again. Calm and harmless, anyone can have a soak, they just have to be willing to share.

Sea wolves are known for answering the calls of wolves with similar howls of their own. Less well known is that they also have been observed making calls similar to whales out in the open ocean. Excellent conversationalists.

They are mostly dark grey, with a light grey belly and face markings, similar to the colouration of a wolf, their eyes are also similar to a wolf. They have thick fur especially around their necks. Their faces are turned up towards the starry sky and mist is billowing from their mouths, indicating they are exhaling and making sound. A third one of these creatures can be seen diving into the water in the background, only its tail visible, showing that the creatures have 2 back flippers and a webbed, fan-like tail making up a sort of tail fin for swimming. There is mist on the water.

Weaver mice like to fill their nests with the prickly fluff that cupines shed. They gnaw the fibres until they're much softer and malleable.

They hunt by sensing warmth. I pass by prompt 2, Sled, to go straight to prompt 3.

The creatures look similar to snow leopards, through they have a completely different face with a long muzzle, more like a horse or a leopard seal. They have long fangs like a smilodon and all their teeth, as well as their eyes, glow a vivid blue which cuts through the blizzard as the most visible part of them. One of the creatures is baring its fangs. Their front paws have a large dewclaw, long and hooked like a scythe, similar to a velociraptor's foot claw. The dewclaw is curled backwards to keep it away from the ground. Their eyes are fixed on the viewer, as if they are hunting you.

Sometimes I try to do a winter art challenge where I draw monsters for winter. Thinking I might try it again this year once November hits.

Trying a slightly different format, this time instead of a list it's a map to travel across over the weeks, hitting whichever prompts you want along the way.

The map is done in an old sepia ink style and divided into weeks like a calendar, covering November, December, and January. Each week has one or two prompts listed with dotted lines marking multiple possible routes between prompts. There are 19 prompts total, the list of prompts is as follows: November: Dusk, Sled, Blue, Weave, Howl, Steam. December: Chill, Lost, Storm, Shelter, Fog, Lights, Avalanche. January: Eclipse, Song, Sprout, Drink, Thaw, Dawn.

Ghost/Fairy Teddiursa & Ursaring regional variant Fakemon. It's said they fell from the sky in the icy north, their long bushy tails burning ragged as they fell.

Art of Paddington Bear as a monster done in a Soulsborne artstyle. He looks similar to the Cleric Beast from Bloodborne, with one arm larger than the other and covered in yellow boils. His coat and hat are tattered. Instead of his suitcase he holds a folded blade similar to Bloodborne's Saw Cleaver in his smaller hand.
