There's been some misunderstanding about key dates for the upcoming statewide special election. Because San Francisco runs elections a little differently, here's what city voters need to know!

Dates for San Franciscans to know for the California special election. Early October: Ballots begin arriving - If you’re registered to vote, your ballot will be mailed to you. October 6: Early voting starts - Return your ballot in an official drop box, by mail, or at the City Hall Voting Center. October 20: Deadline to register to vote online or by mail - After this, you can still register and vote, but only in person. November 4: Election Day! - Put your ballot in a drop box or bring it to any polling place in the city by 8pm.
