We got the worst news in the mail today. Likely Oriole was dumped in a landfill. I’m so furious right now. #eternitypetmemorial #scoundrels

We just found out that our state’s attorney general has opened a case against the funeral home who cremated our dogs when their time came. Now I can’t look at their boxes without wondering who is in the box. 😥

From the archives: This is one of my favorite photos of Oriole with my father who she knew was the source of shortbread cookies.

I was so delighted to see Lily when I went to the salon today. Her mom was the client before me. I made her promise 2 text me when she has her next appointment so I can follow her again and get some Lily loving. Of course her mom brought her bed so she could be comfortable. #greyhound #neighbor

Gone but not forgotten: Oriole, Wavorly and Rio. They were so much fun. I love the three different ear positions in this photo.

From the archives: our third and final greyhound was Oriole. She was a brood mama who only had one litter. She was also our foster failure. I knew within days I couldn’t let this spunky nut job go. She was a keen hunter and a sweet tempered hound.

Our second greyhound, Wavorley, had a career ending broken leg in her last race. Her vet rescued her and we adopted her when she was still in a cast.

She had a beautiful face and a helicopter tail when she was happy.

Spent about 2 hours looking up reviews of robot vacuums for my parents when my husband correctly observed the money would be better spent on a human house cleaner. Smart man.

Rio, my heart dog, was a former racer who had a previous family. Unfortunately health issues caused him to be returned to the adoption group. Fortunately we adopted him. I really loved this sweet boy & miss him terribly even though it’s been 10 years since we said goodbye.

I hear the rain on the skylights and I don’t want to get out of bed. It feels like I should hibernate now until April.

I was so excited to meet some neighborhood greyhound friends, Cinder and Ember, while running an errand today. #greyhound #blackdog #seniordog

Yep. I’ve had 3 cups of coffee today. 😳 How are you doing?

These were our dogs many years ago. I miss them.

If you ever have an opportunity to meet a greyhound you will find them to be some of the sweetest dogs on the planet. And lazy. Very lazy.

We've had a woodpecker drilling holes in the side of our house. Now I'm a crazy lady who tears out of the house every time I hear tapping on the wall. 😜😂😡

Spotted this hardworking bee doing her thing on a late season dandelion while on my walk today. Snow is forecasted for later in the week. I hope she can stay warm.

Went out for a walk yesterday afternoon and ended up having brunch. I have to remember to take pictures sooner. 😆

My husband carries a water bottle with him on our walks. So I made him a bottle sling using some of my favorite fabric featuring Richard Skipworth’s fabulous illustrations of greyhound ears. I’m quite pleased with how it turned out.
