to that point - one of the most interesting/novel things abt metroid prime 4 narratively is the reveal of organized religion in human colonies. the npc that gives you that info (inexplicably in miss-able, collectible related side quests) would have been a strong foil for samus given more screentime

yea handling of the npcs is whack. instead of pushing all these sci fi military archetypes with no time to go to depth with any of them, you should be given *one* to develop a really deep relationship with over the whole game, which would make the ending matter more

I was kind of just bitter abt what the awards represent, how the thing fails to put people that make games over gaming iconography. your piece gave me a useful lens for viewing it all. I now feel a kind of peace with it - the awards wont change bc it can't, it's designed this way. nice work, ty :)

my family happens to be from tela, honduras where many garifuna folks still live - i am partly descended from these people. neat to see mention outside of my family of them.. interested to see a finished piece hehe
