Oh, and language skills. Definitely feel held back by not having Spanish fluency. I consider myself “limited working proficiency.” I took Spanish classes from middle school through college graduation. There’s a lot up there in my brain, but without regular conversation, fluency has eluded me.

head* that is.

Longterm job searching gets to you after a while. It sucks

Lately I’ve felt held back by my unknown state-school degree and job gaps more than I ever have. But is it real or just in my hea? 🤷‍♀️

I feel susceptible to this. I often will absolutely not apply to a job that I don’t meet all but maybe one or two bullet points. But in this market, missing one or two means you likely will be filtered out of the candidate pool.

Additionally, there should be something that addresses employers that require the candidate to do a certain amount of work before or after an interview. Once I had to create some kind of mock marketing campaign, for example. Writing prompts, etc. that take too much time with no pay.

I have family members with that label. And I wouldn’t even put them in the same category as Donald Trump.

In Ladyhawke, the most blood you see is a tiny bit from an arrow. ReAnimator (uncut version) on the other hand is undoubtedly one of the gorier horror movies out there.

The cinematography of Ladyhawke was stunning, but we both felt the soundtrack was terrible.

And RA is a classic, ofc.

But it’s not a suffocating black hole. More like a psychedelic kaleidoscope… or something

I watched this recently and wondered how you *really* felt, lol. Do you *really* welcome our robot overlords???

I know we’ve been saying that The Handmaid‘s Tale reflects real life for quite some time, but the more that Project 2025 roots itself in policy and practice, that story’s warning is more palpable than it ever has been in my lifetime.
