OK, Obama’s longer version is more precise; that doesn’t change that the post’s point is spot-on.
Nice, but here’s the real quote, via USA Today: “Obama, who in a campaign speech supporting Vice President Kamala Harris, said if Trump ‘does not care that a mob might attack his own vice president, do you think he cares about you?’”

Post misquotes Obama line about Pence's safety on Jan. 6 | Fact check
Obama didn't say Trump "tried to kill" Pence. He said if Trump "does not care that a mob might attack" Pence, "do you think he cares about you?"

From Heather Cox Richardson. This type of thing should not be in a budget bill. Call your senators to remove this and so many other things from the bill.

“Power corrupts…absolute power corrupts absolutely”. Our Founding Fathers foresaw this wisdom, so they built protections for us; but now, half of today’s Americans refuse to be convinced of this wisdom…not even as the corruption becomes obvious…and devastating. So our protections are being torn down
This bill adds $3.8 trillion to the national debt while millions of people lose their healthcare. This isn’t fiscal responsibility.

It’s been almost 10 years, since Republican politicians have considered conflicting facts as a reason to tell the truth…or since Republican voters have been willing to vote according to the visible evidence of the destruction which their politicians have done to our country. And both are worsening.
But don’t let facts get in the way.

Law & order in the USA has been broken down, particularly in regard to criminal politicians. From top to bottom, they use their position to escape Justice. Look at the video of Lauren Boebert’s response to being removed by security (for performing sexual acts in public): “Do you know who I am?”
"If you live in a nation where you expect laws and rules are mostly going to be enforced, you’ll do your unlawful things in private. And you’ll cover up what you’ve done. You’ll behave like Richard Nixon. But Trump’s more like a crime boss."

Pam Bondi’s last job was as a lobbyist for Qatar at $115,000 per month…
So, of course, she says the $400 million gold-plated 747 isn’t a bribe or emolument…

How many Republicans have spoken out against Trump's threat to suspend habeas corpus?

How many Republicans have spoken out against Trump's "gift" from Qatar?

How many Republicans--and other Republican-adjacent elites--put the Constitution above Trump?

The sad answer: vanishingly close to zero.

Honestly? The $400M plane from Qatar is quaint compared to his crypto scam, memecoin con, insider trading, and tariff shakedowns.

could someone check with John Roberts whether accepting a $400 million plane for your personal use is a core executive power that congress may not constitutionally regulate or merely an action for which the president is presumptively immune from any accountability?

It’s especially galling that AG Pam Bondi personally wrote the memo approving the gift of the Qatari airplane. Her last job was as a lobbyist for Qatar! efile.fara.gov/docs/6415-Ex...

We’re going from a country that could defend itself, provide enough $ for everyone to survive, and tried to avoid bankruptcy, and no one was punished without a legal process, to instead, most of that $ going to one guy, who makes the laws. It seems stupid, but half the country likes the guy a LOT.
The president has covered the Oval Office in gold, is planning a massive military parade for his birthday, and is now accepting $400,000,000 luxury planes from foreign powers as personal presents.

What the fuck are we doing here?

Saturday, day I was a function I’ve attended for about 20 yrs, where the Pledge of Allegiance is always recited. Putting my hand over my heart, and saying it out of rote, initially and by the end, realizing its importance for the first time, in my 73 yrs. I hope every American has this experience
