Very tired middle-aged woman who's too old for this shit
Marti is doing REALLY well, he's finished his first month of antifungal medication and liver meds. He's a butthead, as is appropriate for a young pibble, but he loves to be my 60 lb. lap dog now too 🥰 Definitely best boy ever, 20+/10!

A boule of Horiatiko Psomi that clearly needed deeper scoring. Really slack dough so it does make a flatter boule but simple and delicious. It was a good first test of a new altitude, humidity level, and oven. #breadmaking

Why is it that the simplest #sewing projects are the ones that end up being a nightmare?? This simple sweatsuit was the biggest beyotch ever. It's cute tho, just don't ask to see the inside 🫣 The cropped top is a free pattern from www.sewmuchado.com and the capri joggers are from Apostrophe patterns

How does he sleep like that??

A terrible picture of the most wonderful dog ❤️ This is Martini, our new pup. Best boy ever, already! Rescue from the local shelter, and he's had a rough go but he's got such a sweet nature, we're gonna do just fine together

Beautiful, and I'm sure delicious too! I decorated a focaccia once but my artistry was weak 😅

Trying this again with smaller images. Pictures of the Badlands, South Dakota from April 2020

My shaping is a bit sketchy. They'll do though

Because I think it's really important to use what we have right now. Pearl barley that's been languishing in my pantry, canned portabella mushrooms, spinach that was aging rapidly. With a little dried thyme, white pepper, salt, olive oil, and just a bit of lime juice to brighten it up.

I do love a good falafel. On naan because I never have mastered pita, with random spring mix greens, tomatoes, and tahini sauce. Doesn't fix a damn thing but it makes me feel better for the moment.

The finished product is a lovely pot of posole. I'd never made it with pods, only ground chile powder. Pods all the way now!

Pork all browned off. Chiles, bay leaves, Mexican oregano, broth, onion, and garlic added, and brought to a simmer.

I love the smell of pork fat in the morning

After a week of my stove sitting on the middle of the dining room, in pleased to confirm that I do indeed remember how to cook. Hey, at 57, it wasn't an absolute given!

The pot of gold at the end of the rainbow is definitely a cactus for me, I love and miss AZ so much-I hope to be back there for good soon.

Sunrise on the beach. Camping on the beach and waking up to a sunrise like this was probably once in a lifetime, and I cherish it.

Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, just before the world got totally crazy, 12-28-19. Heavy dew in the morning reflecting the trees in the distance

Some holiday baking. Koulourakia Lathiou, Melomakarona, and very generic sugar cookies. Next year I'm back to the Smitten Kitchen recipe. These aren't BAD, but they're only ok. Also note my poor shaping on those, the dough was frustrating to work with so I just said Eh 🤷🏻‍♀️
