Very tired middle-aged woman who's too old for this shit
Marti is doing REALLY well, he's finished his first month of antifungal medication and liver meds. He's a butthead, as is appropriate for a young pibble, but he loves to be my 60 lb. lap dog now too 🥰 Definitely best boy ever, 20+/10!

A boule of Horiatiko Psomi that clearly needed deeper scoring. Really slack dough so it does make a flatter boule but simple and delicious. It was a good first test of a new altitude, humidity level, and oven. #breadmaking

Why is it that the simplest #sewing projects are the ones that end up being a nightmare?? This simple sweatsuit was the biggest beyotch ever. It's cute tho, just don't ask to see the inside 🫣 The cropped top is a free pattern from www.sewmuchado.com and the capri joggers are from Apostrophe patterns

A one-pan lemon chicken with potatoes and chickpeas perfect for right now. The chicken thighs are bronzed and crisp; the roasted potatoes and chickpeas infuse with the lemony onion and garlic drippings. It's perfect.

A terrible picture of the most wonderful dog ❤️ This is Martini, our new pup. Best boy ever, already! Rescue from the local shelter, and he's had a rough go but he's got such a sweet nature, we're gonna do just fine together

A love letter to my favorite vegetable, with a couple new-to-me tips from Hailee Catalano that altered the way I've always cooked artichokes, making it quicker, neater, and prettier, too. You're in for such a treat.

I made a LOT of fajitas yesterday and my house still smells like a Mexican restaurant. I'm torn between relishing the aroma and lighting a candle to clear it. I love the smell but I'm also still full from lunch yesterday, so it's a dilemma 😅

Thinking a lot about the darkness we're in, and the ways people are trying to fight that darkness. We're all so, so, so damn traumatized. Some of us come from whole damn legacies of trauma stretching back centuries. We're in a set of situations specifically DESIGNED to trigger that trauma. 1/🧵

Because I think it's really important to use what we have right now. Pearl barley that's been languishing in my pantry, canned portabella mushrooms, spinach that was aging rapidly. With a little dried thyme, white pepper, salt, olive oil, and just a bit of lime juice to brighten it up.
