I am of the simple opinion that stuff like this is the peak of human endeavour and we can cut it out with the missiles and demonic computers in favour of getting really good at a cool little thing
this is mesmerizing

You really, really, REALLY don't want to miss this. It's given me several "must visit" travel plans, as well as a couple "never *ever* going there" (the tunnel story!!!) warnings. Charming in places, deeply thought provoking in others, downright chilling in some, all in all a must read.
Darlings! If AMERICA'S MOST GOTHIC: HAUNTED HISTORY STRANGER THAN FICTION has been on your to-read list but you haven't gotten your copy yet, since it is a (truly stunning) hardcover, 5.99 is the best digital price it'll be! Limited time across ALL digital platforms, @bookshop.org included!
🖤👻
Sale alert! AMERICA'S MOST GOTHIC by myself & Andrea Janes of @boroughsofthedead.bsky.social is on eBook sale across ALL shops!

Also available in lovely hardcover or in audiobook, with both of us narrating!

You don’t always have to “pick a side” in international conflicts. Sometimes (most times, really) there isn’t really a clear “good guy” and “bad guy”.

It’s okay to sit with that discomfort instead of picking a winner like it’s a sports game.

Read this and then: support the zines and publishers you love. It is tough, rough times for small publishers and zines. Do what you can to help them continue their good work.

I remember as a kid, the palpable anxiety in my house when it looked like my dad might have to strike. Going on strike takes *so* much courage, for the union, for their families. Organized labor is so important. Support them every way you can.

Grateful for any interest & support our recent release, AMERICA'S MOST GOTHIC: HAUNTED HISTORY STRANGER THAN FICTION, has received, and hope folks will newly discover our non-fiction examining ghost lore (critically, personally & viscerally) through the lens of Gothic literature & women's history. 🖤
Reminder: A lot of great books published this year during absolutely bonkers news & world event times. That squashes people talking about them. Keep buying books please, keep borrowing them from libraries, and for the love of all that's good, talk about them. Post about them. 📚

Never go to Starbucks? Cool. Going on strike is *hard*, and doing so requires bravery. Show your solidarity & support by donating to the strike fund! It'll keep the workers fed, housed & resourced while they're fighting.

Yes, I am going to keep re-upping this off & on until the end of the year because it is, alas, topical to the current situation in the USA (meant to take place a few decades in our future).
Activism is also the small, ordinary, collective actions of people keeping their heads above water day to day.
An older medic with scant resources fights to support her community as they survive life behind the company wall.

This novelette is my only near future sf story, inspired by a long-ago convo with my dad & by the activists who never give up.

@holzman-tweed.bsky.social knows this *deep*. Churros, subway candy, make me feel loved. Mushrooms make me feel thought of. Something I mentioned wanting? Within 3 days, it's on my plate, and I feel pampered. A man who shows love with food? Priceless.
At the heart of every woman she’s essentially a food… figure out the kind… figure out the order and you can live as a god forever
Get ya ears off the charger and listen:

“I don’t know what I want” doesn’t mean I’m not hungry. It means I’m about two inhales from being violently hangry & lack the executive function to navigate a menu. Know what I like to eat and FEED ME so no one gets hurt.
